Dor Chadash

Dor Chadash is a group of supportive, fun families who believe in getting children integrated into synagogue life early. Through amazing social and religious activities, we get little ones excited about Jewish home life, holidays and community work. Whether it's through our welcoming High Holy Days services or our uber-casual Erev Shabbat programs, Dor Chadash brings together young families who bond over the beautiful - and at times challenging - efforts of creating a Jewish life for young children, toddlers and babies.

We host incredible, music-filled parties that will get little Yiddishe tushies dancing. We also organize age-appropriate community service programs and a few events just for the grown-ups, including thought-provoking lectures for parents.

Some of our upcoming programs include:

Friday, November 2, 2012 is
Dor Chadash’s Twilight Fall Shabbat Dinner
Star-Studded Grammys Shabbat
At Sinai Temple
A dazzling interactive Shabbat service & dinner for you and your little ones.

Kid friendly Shabbat service, musical entertainment, fun and fancy art projects, special surprises for your little ones throughout the night

Family Hanukkah Party! Wednesday, December 12 at 5:30 p.m. One of our most popular events of the year! Enjoy some competitive (but age-appropriate) dreidel games, arts and crafts and - of course - latkes!

You and your pint-sized posse can also join us every month to celebrate Shabbat:

First Friday of Every Month (November - March) -- Jammies 'N' Jeans Shabbat, 5:45 p.m., in Gold Hall

Slip on a pair of Jeans and dress your kids in their PJ's -- to shul! A light dinner provided to those who RSVP.

First Friday of Every Month (April - September) -- Shabbat in the Park, 5:45 p.m., at Holmby Park

Bring your own kosher-style (dairy) picnic dinner and welcome Shabbat amid friends, family and monkey bars!

Third Saturday of Every Month -- Tot Shabbat, 9 a.m., Gold Hall

Celebrate Shabbat with Dale, Arts and Crafts and oneg!

Dor Chadash is a great way to make a large synagogue feel like a small community.  We welcome all families with young children, so come introduce yourself at one of our upcoming events! For more information, please email dchadash@gmail.com or call (310) 481-3296.

Sinai Temple is a partnership between its clergy, staff, lay leaders and devoted members who are committed to supporting the tradition and vision of Sinai Temple. Your gift to Sinai Temple will enable us to continue these holy tasks for years to come. Thank you for helping us to bring our history, our beliefs and our promise to a new generation.
We are a member of the Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs. We aim to provide a framework within which men can broaden their knowledge and understanding of the history and values of our people and in which they can make tangible contributions of their talents and treasure in an environment of good fellowship.
Our goal at Sinai Temple is to create a Bar/Bat Mitzvah program that is a spiritual and religious experience counseling child and family to God, the Jewish people and to each other.
The Sinai Temple Israel Center is the first synagogue center that provides programmatic resources and avenues for Los Angeles Jewry to establish cultural, professional, spiritual, and economic ties to the land of Israel.
Sinai Temple's 20's & 30's Community
Torah in the Round regularly meets on the third Shabbat of the month, usually located in Kohn Chapel.
We are ready to commit to Torah—through reflection, persistence, and study. Are you? Welcome to Torah in the Round!
A warm, traditional lay-led family friendly service. We meet weekly, beginning at 9:30am and finishing at 12 noon with a scrumptious kiddush. Come join our family!
