Dr. Marc Lindner
Head of School, Sinai Akiba Academy
Dr. Marc Lindner is thrilled to be back in Los Angeles, at Sinai Akiba Academy, in the role of Head of School. Born and raised in New York, Marc met his wife, Michelle, in Los Angeles nearly 30 years ago. From 1996-2016, Marc and Michelle lived in Los Angeles, where their two daughters were born and raised. Jade and Sophia, who are now 19 and 15, join their parents in the joy of now being close to many family members and friends.
For the past 17 years, Marc has worked in Jewish education. Immediately before beginning his tenure at Sinai Akiba Academy, he was High School Principal and Associate Head of School at the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in Rockville, Maryland, beginning in 2016. Before moving to Maryland, he was Middle School Director and Assistant Head of School at Heschel Day School in Northridge (2012-2016). Marc spent one year as Middle School Principal at Pressman Academy (2011-2012) before moving closer to his home at the time in Woodland Hills. His career in Jewish education began at de Toledo High School in West Hills (2003-2011). There, he began as a full time teacher and the school’s Founding Director of College Guidance, and then moved into the role of Founding Dean of Academic Affairs.
Aside from his experience as a teacher and administrator, Marc has engaged extensively in professional development and been of service to Los Angeles area Jewish day schools. He served on the Education Advisory Committee of the Wise School (2015-2016) and on the Board of Kadima Hebrew Academy (2006-2009). He completed two programs for educational leaders at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (2017 and 2009) and he is a graduate of the Day School Leadership Training Institute, held at the Davidson Graduate School of the Jewish Theological Seminary (2015-2016).
Marc earned his BS in Psychology and Business at Ithaca College (New York) and both his MA and Ph.D. in Social Psychology at the University of Maine.
