DAVID MATLOOB


David has been a member of Sinai Temple since 1989, with all four of his children having their Bar and Bat Mitzvahs at Sinai Temple.  David has been a member of the Sinai Temple Mens Club Since 1993, and was President of Men’s Club in 2000. In 2002 David was elected to the Board of Directors and served until 2017. He served as Vice President for 10 years, and is honored to be back on the Board.

MICHAEL AKIVA


Michael Akiva is the Managing Partner of the Law Offices of Jacoby & Meyers.  Michael has extensive management experience and studied Business, with a Finance emphasis in undergrad, before attending law school.  While at law school, Michael served as the Editor of the UCLA Law Review.  He has been a member of Sinai since 2012. His wife, Melissa, is heavily involved with both the temple and Sinai Akiba. Their children, Isla, Lev, and Shayne are students at Akiba.

Faith Gershbock


Faith Gershbock and her husband Richard (z’l) became members of Sinai Temple along with her mother, Betty Hamburger over 38 years ago and consider Sinai Temple their second home. Both of her sons, Aaron and Jacob, graduated from Sinai Akiba Academy. Aaron formally studied cantorial skills with Ariel Cohen and the Cantors at Sinai Temple. Both of Faith’s sons had their Bar Mitzvah at Sinai Temple. Faith is the Co-Chair of the Ritual Committee along with Rosa Berman Ruder. She is also on the Board of Directors and sits on the membership committee as well as the Aryell Cohen concert…

JASON COSGROVE


Jason Cosgrove is a digital media executive at Google working on YouTube’s Digital Media & Enterprise Partnerships team. He received his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from University of California, Berkeley and his Juris Doctor from USC Gould School of Law. Jason has been attending services at Sinai Temple since he was 3 weeks old. He attended Sinai Akiba Academy, as did his three siblings, six nieces and nephews, and he and his wife Rachael currently have two children at the school – Sydney and Talia. His father Malcolm Cosgrove is a past President of the synagogue.

Marcy Melton


Marcy and Frank were married at Sinai Temple in June,1999.  Frank had two daughters from a previous marriage and they have a third daughter from this marriage.  All three girls went to Sinai Akiba Academy.  Marcy was first active in Family Minyan and then in the formation of Dor Chadash and served as the chair of Tot Shabbat for two years.  When Gabby entered Kindergarten at SAA, Marcy served as Co-Chair of the Lost & Found program for 2 years, then Co-Chair of the School Lunch program for the next 8 years.  She became active in Sisterhood about 5 years…

Rabbi Andy Feig


Rabbi Andy Feig, a native Chicagoan, has lived and worked in Los Angeles for almost two decades. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Hebrew Studies and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin and has a Master’s Degree in Jewish Studies from the University of Chicago. Before finishing rabbinical school, Rabbi Feig worked at Milken Community High School, where he was Dean of Students and a Jewish Studies teacher. Prior to Milken, he was an administrator and teacher at Stephen S. Wise Temple Elementary School. In 2007, he was ordained as a rabbi at the Academy for Jewish Religion, California….

Kerry Maller has been a proud member of the Sinai Temple Community since 2017, where he has served on the Membership and Board Development Committees. He has served on the AJC ACCESS Young Leadership Board, and is a graduate of the Jewish Federation’s- Community Leadership Institute. Kerry is an Emmy Award Winning Producer with the premiere news magazine, Inside Edition, and holds a BA in Political Science from Indiana University.
