Some argue that Israel has committed “medicide\,” and violated international law through systemic attacks on hospitals and physicians. These arguments are based on flawed data supplied by the Gaza Health Ministry to the World Health Organization (WHO)\, which is in turn disseminated by the United Nations (UN). Prof. Johns will discuss her ongoing research about bias and inaccuracies in WHO and UN reporting on health care during armed conflict. She will share how these processes lead to false claims that Israel has violated international law. \nProf. Leslie Johns is a professor of political science and law at UCLA. We will see a forged Talmud\, handwritten early print volumes of ethics and mysticism and more\, and learn about the work that the Library is doing to preserve these materials so they can be shared for generations to come. \nPlease RSVP to ilana@ucla.edu by Thursday\, January 15. \nOptional meet up for lunch in UCLA’s LuValle Commons at 12:30 PM. \nDirections and Parking Details: \nThe closest available parking to Charles E.
