Centennial Campaign

Launched in 2006, Sinai Temple’s Centennial Campaign celebrated our synagogue’s contributions to the Los Angeles Jewish Community over its first 100 years by establishing Sinai: A Center for Jewish Life and Learning.

Funds raised through the Centennial Campaign ensured that our vision for the future became a reality by establishing a “Fund for the Future” to support the enhancement of successful programs already in place – the Douglas Family Early Childhood Center, Sinai Akiba Academy and Sinai Temple Religious School, Atid, the Tedz’l and Hedy Orden Family Friday Night Live, the Abner and Roslyn Goldstine Scholar-in-Residence Lecture Series – as well as to provide funding to expand programming that elevates Jewish learning and living for all ages.

The Sinai Centennial Campaign was a special and pivotal moment for our community. The programs that emanated from this campaign represented an opportunity to preserve past traditions in a way that remains relevant for the next century and beyond. The Campaign helped Sinai Temple create the future together by transforming our vision for Jewish Life and Learning into reality.blockquote-close

To ensure that our synagogue was physically equipped to truly become A Center for Jewish Life and Learning, and to provide a welcoming environment for our members, a portion of the Centennial funds were allocated for the much needed renovations of our third and fourth floors of Sinai Akiba Academy and the acquisition of additional properties for our future needs. Due to the support and generosity of our donors, we were able to also establish the Sinai Temple Israel Center with innovative Israel programming.

A special thank you to all of our donors who made the Centennial Campaign possible. The Sinai Temple Centennial Donor Wall is located on the first floor outside of Barad Hall.
