Teen Center Yom Kippur Program
The Teen Center is having Ruben Pinuelas share his incredible story with us on Yom Kippur (Wednesday, October 5). Ruben was wrongfully convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment as a teenager. Ruben spent twelve years in solitary confinement. Based in large part on his own hard work, he was able to get his wrongful conviction overturned in 2014 and since his release, Ruben has served as a legal intern for Loyola’s Project for the Innocent, the Los Angeles Superior Court, and at a law firm. He was at the top of his class when he received his Associate Degree from Los Angeles Pierce College. Then, he was given a prestigious scholarship to attend Pomona College. In 2021, Ruben graduated with a 3.96 GPA from Pomona College. Next year, he will be attending law school. Click HERE to register. |
