POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Sinai Temple clergy, this position serves and nurtures ATID: Sinai Temple’s robust and welcoming Young Adult Professionals. In partnership with passionate clergy and Sinai Temple staff, this individual will plan and implement opportunities for social, professional, and spiritual growth for our members for this micro-community of individuals in their 20s and 30s. Some evenings and weekends are required.

PRIMARY DUTIES

Programming and Engagement

  • Be point of contact for the ATID community- members in their 20s and 30s who are seeking community and ways to enhance their lives Jewishly.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate Sinai Temple’s flagship program for young adults, the monthly Ted(z”l) & Hedy(z”l) Orden and Family Friday Night Live, featuring:
    • Shabbat Service with clergy and band
    • Shabbat dinner
    • Opportunities for social and spiritual growth
  • Develop and offer ongoing 2-3 meaningful and creative programs each month for our young adult members (in their 20s and 30s) that engage and inspire them socially, culturally, communally, and intellectually with Jewish life.
  • Help plan and execute Sinai Temple’s vision of an annual ATID weekend/retreat
  • Be point person for ongoing, existing ATID-related activities, including but not limited to:
    • Men’s Basketball League (Tuesdays & Thursdays)
    • Women’s Basketball (Sundays)
    • Yoga on Zoom (weekly) and at the park (monthly)
    • Hiking (monthly)
    • Women’s Book Club (monthly)
    • Sinai Temple Social Action events

Relationship Building

  • Develop and build a havurah (micro-community) for ATID newlywed couples
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues at Sinai Akiba Academy to develop pathways for new parents to engage with Sinai Temple’s Parenting Center and Douglas Family Early Childhood Center

Leadership Development

  • Identify and nurture emergent synagogue leaders in the ATID community
  • Develop and manage an ATID Lay Committee who will provide insights into the needs of Young Professionals and assist with strategic visioning and program implementation

Communications and Social Media

  • Work collaboratively with Temple Communications Manager to effectively market and manage all events, including eblasts, social media promos, and more
  • Create, update, and send bi-weekly newsletter to the ATID community
  • Maintain and update ATID’s Facebook and Instagram accounts
  • High Holy Days: Offer meaningful service and/or experience for young adults

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Attend weekly Staff Meetings
  • Some evenings and weekends are required

TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Comfort with social media
  • Comfort with google forms, registration platforms, etc.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s degree

Hours are flexible, will vary each week and will include some weekends and evenings.

Compensation: Range of $67,000-$70,000 based on experience and skills
