This pandemic has taken us all by surprise. Yet, in some ways, this is the vacation on the desert island with a house full of books and music for which I’ve been delighted to enjoy. While I would normally travel many times a year, this year has made me revisit those adventures, and meaningful activities have been closer to home. I have enjoyed every novel, I have deeply considered every Jewish holiday, and my appreciation for family (as mine is quite far from LA) has deepened with each holiday that passed. My silver lining has been the time afforded for great introspection. I look forward to sharing my new perspective with fellow teachers and my students.
