I believe that one of the major silver linings of the COVID-19 pandemic is that it has brought people closer to each other. Although the physical distancing is observed and practiced, people have become closer to one another spiritually and mentally. They care for one another and relate to each other’s needs, and they try to be as helpful as possible. Grownups have naturally passed this phenomenon on to their children. As a Judaic educator, I relate to this marvel as a Jewish value: “Love thy neighbor like yourself.” I can see that children are more affectionate and loving towards their family, their grandparents and friends.
