A Spoonful of Hesed

On Thursday, January 11, over 50 temple members of all ages gathered at Sinai for A Spoonful of Hesed: Making Meals for Those in Need. An initiative led by Rabbi Nicole Guzik, Sinai Sisterhood and the temple’s Social Action Committee, this group came together to cook soup and bake cookies for those in need of a little healing. Together, hundreds of carrots were peeled, veggies were sliced and pounds of batter was mixed. In addition, members got to know one another and connect. The resulting soup and cookies were stored in a freezer and will be delivered to temple members who need a bit of extra care and support. Sinai hopes to hold several other events such as this throughout the year. For more information about the Spoonful of Hesed program, please contact [email protected].
