DESCRIPTION:Europe\, Israel’s largest trade partner\, is critical to Israel’s security and economy. In the aftermath of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the October 7 terrorist invasion of Israel\, the defense relationship between Europe and Israel is growing rapidly. ELNET\, the European Leadership Network (founded in 2007)\, has taken 36 delegations of European lawmakers\, influential military experts\, and other leaders to Israel since October 7. \nJoin us for a conversation with two world-class experts about Israel’s future and the role Europe will play in it: The Right Honorable Joan Ryan was a Member of Parliament of the U.K. for 17 years and served in the government of Prime Minister Tony Blair. Ryan famously resigned from the Labour Party in 2019 to protest its “culture of antisemitism” under Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership. She is now Executive Director of ELNET’s U.K. office which opened in London in 2021. Ambassador David Siegel was Chief of Staff to three Israeli Ambassadors to the US and Consul General of Israel to the Pacific Southwest region\, among other senior Israeli diplomatic positions. He is President of ELNET-US\, a 501c3 that supports the global work of ELNET\, and is based in New York.
