April 17 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Event Category:

Sinai Temple is proud to be a community partner in support of Defiant Requiem: Verdi at Terezín, presented by the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust and The Defiant Requiem Foundation. This unique and profoundly moving multimedia concert-drama features a full performance of Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem Mass. It tells the story of the courageous Jewish prisoners in the Terezín concentration camp who performed the monumental Verdi Requiem while experiencing the depths of human degradation.

Rabbi Wolpe will be in conversation with Ambassador Stuart Eizenstat at the pre-concert reception. This conversation will focus on the back story of how Eizenstat, as special advisor to President Carter, secured 50,000 emergency US visas for Iranians (primarily Jews) who were in peril when the Shah was overthrown.

General admission tickets range from $45-$98
Premium tickets including the VIP reception start at $250

Proceeds support free Holocaust education at Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust.
