Sodot Concert Series Featuring Liz Baseman

July 20, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Event Category:

Liz Baseman started out with a passion for Jewish music at a young age. Always singing in temple youth choirs, she began Songleading at 16 at URJ Eisner Camp in Great Barrington, MA, and has not put her guitar down since. Liz graduated from U.C. Santa Cruz, majoring in Vocal Performance and Opera Performance. While still in college, she started to lead services at Hillel and nearby congregations. Upon graduation, she worked as a Teaching Artist at a non-profit after-school music program for underserved children, and taught in religious school. Liz moved to Los Angeles three years ago to attend the Academy for Jewish Religion, California, where she is currently in her third year of the Cantorial Program. She loves singing and praying with the ATID community, and had the privilege of serving as Cantorial Soloist for ATID during the High Holy Days last year. She also loved teaching Sinai students about prayers and Hebrew reading in STARS this past year. Liz has recently started to compose her own prayer melodies, as well as liturgical poetry. Liz looks forward to sharing some of her favorite music with you this Monday.
