3RD GRADE TEACHER
I am Frida Eytan and I have had the opportunity to teach at Sinai Temple Religious School for over thirty years. During this time, I’ve not only had the chance to see my students grow and reach major milestones, but also to watch my own children develop. A day that stands out so vividly in my mind is October 15, 1994 (Cheshvan 10, 5755) – the day my son became a Bar Mitzvah. Watching him standing at the Bima in the Main Sanctuary in front of family, friends and a crowd of hundreds, reading from the Torah, I was in awe. I felt overcome with emotion, knowing that an important Jewish tradition had been accomplished in front of our community and that these values would continue to carry on throughout the generations to come. This same feeling motivates meet each day in the classroom, as I work with our students to help instill love of the Torah, Israel and Derech Eretz (values, morals, etc).
