The Sinai Temple Blumenthal Library is one of the finest temple libraries in the nation. We have over 25,000 books, audiobooks, DVD’s, eBooks, and other materials, for adults and children. We also lend Kindles with hundreds of pre-loaded e-books on them.
We are nationally known as experts in the Elazar catalog classification system for Judaic libraries. We are one of the few temple libraries (of any denomination) that have received advanced accreditation by the National Association of Jewish Libraries.
We are open during the school year, from mid-August to mid-June. Library privileges are free to all temple members, regardless of age. Books and DVD’s are checked out for two weeks, and audiobooks for three weeks. Children in our affiliated schools come to the library on a regular basis and are allowed to borrow materials according to grade level guidelines. (Non-temple members also have borrowing privileges—call to request prior permission.) Renewals are easily permitted by phone, email, or in person.
