Marilyn Stern
Sisterhood Co-President
For more than three decades, Marilyn Stern has been at the heart of Sinai Temple’s dedication to education, social action, Sisterhood, family engagement, and Jewish culture. She has devoted her time, energy, and leadership skills to vital sectors of the synagogue, including the Sinai Temple Preschool, Sinai Akiba Academy, the Sinai Temple Religious School, and the Social Action Committee. More than twenty years ago, Marilyn brought Mitzvah Day, a day of service, to Sinai Temple. She spearheaded a support group at Sinai Temple for parents of children with special needs. She also worked with Rabbi Sherman to bring JNET, a Jewish networking group, to Sinai Temple.
Beyond her synagogue commitments, Marilyn takes great pleasure in the arts. A “regular” at Sinai’s Sisterhood Arts & Crafts class, she also enjoys photography, baking and swimming. Professionally, Marilyn is a residential real estate agent. She also serves on the board of her homeowner’s association. Marilyn is married to Jeffrey, a third-generation member of Sinai Temple, and is the proud mother of their two adult children, Andrea and Adam, who share Marilyn’s spirit of tikkun olam.
