3RD GRADE TEACHING ASSISTANT
My name is Anna Farr, and this is my first year at Sinai Temple. I am currently studying political science at Santa Monica College. The year 2017 (Hebrew year 5777) is important to me because it is the year I graduated from high school and went to Brooklyn, New York, for seminary. I decided to take the gap year after high school because I wanted at least one more year of Jewish studies before going to college. During that year, I furthered my Jewish education and gained a lot of independence. I learned Judaic studies in depth and developed a passion for the subject. I made long-lasting friendships and strengthened my appreciation for Judaism. The classes I connected to the most were the practical classes that explained how we can connect Judaism in our everyday lives. The real-life lessons made the classes interesting and enjoyable. One of my favorite concepts is called “Hashgacha Pratis,” which translates to Divine Providence. Hashgacha Pratis is the idea that everything happens exactly the way it is supposed to. I am a strong believer that everything happens at the right time and place, just the way they are meant to be. It is Hashgacha Pratis that I am starting Sinai Temple and I look forward to an amazing year!
