CELINE EMEIN

1ST GRADE TEACHER

My name is Celine Emein and this year will be my third year at the Religious School and my first year as a first grade teacher! The date that stands out to me is my Bat Mitzvah, October 19th, 2013 (15 Cheshvan 5774); it is the day that I began to truly connect to Judaism. Up until then, I had attended Sinai Akiba Academy as well as the Religious School. I loved learning Hebrew, singing the prayers and understanding the Jewish culture as a whole. When I became a Bat Mitzvah, my world opened up to a whole new side of Judaism that I connected with, spirituality. From then on, I began practicing meditation as a form of talking to God. I also began to sing more spiritual and Jewish pieces of music as a way to combine both my religion and passion for singing. Judaism became a safe space and Sinai became my home away from home.
