7TH GRADE TEACHER

My name is Leora Javaheri-far and my story begins in Iran. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to live in Israel for a few years before moving to the United States. I am so grateful to be a part of the Saini Temple family and community. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the world in a way that no one thought possible. As an educator, the pandemic has helped me find new connections with my students, as well as better methods to get them involved in learning. These times I think have similarities to the story of Yetziat Mitzrayim, when we were leaving Egypt. B’nai Yisrael were living with an unknown future, not knowing where they were headed or how to make temporary shelter and get food. They had very uncertain circumstances, just as we have with the COIVD-19 pandemic. When leaving Egypt, B’nai Yisrael put their full Emunah (trust) in Hashem, trusting that Hashem would guide them through their unknown time, and following the guidelines set to be the best they could be. So too should we follow in their footsteps, to put our Emunah in Hashem and follow the Torah when we are faced with uncertain times.
