This is a time that has demonstrated to me, the way few events have in my past, how the community can put the needs of those most vulnerable in our population above other needs. When the shelter-in-place order first went out and people were observing it, I was overwhelmed with a sense of gratitude. That the general public was choosing Pikuach Nefesh—the preservation of a life—for people who are immunocompromised, I was amazed. I hope that our community will continue to amaze us all.
