5TH GRADE TEACHER
Hi! My name is Nirel Gidanian, and I am super excited to begin teaching at the Temple Sinai Religious School this year. A date that is important to me is my first trip to Israel which began on 25 Sivan (July 1st). This trip allowed me to visit many of the religious sites I had learned about throughout my Jewish education and helped me make connections between the history I was taught and the land where it all took place. Additionally, I was able to experience the Israeli culture, try the delicious foods, and make memories that I will cherish forever. This eye-opening trip inspired me to return to Israel two years later as a volunteer in an effort to give back to the place that brought me so much joy. Fusing my passion for dentistry with my love for Judaism, I began volunteering at a dental clinic in Holon where I interacted with Israeli civilians and heard personal stories about their lives. I came back with a more well-rounded understanding and stronger connection for Judaism. I intend to pass forward the knowledge and experiences I have gathered with Hebrew School students through my teaching.
