The Chai Society of Sinai Temple is open to anyone 55 years of age or older. We are the official Shabbat greeters and we meet monthly on the Tuesday evening prior to the last Shabbat of each month. At our meetings we have enjoyed speakers on various topics such as medical issues, ethical wills, and reports from our members on interesting trips they have taken. This year we heard from Cantor Marcus Feldman, Merrill Shindler, a restauranteur, Aaron Cohen, Aryel Cohen’s father, and participated in chair dancing with Adele Stogel. With the library, we co-sponsor presentations by various authors.
In addition, we enjoy taking field trips. Some of our recent field trips have included The Holocaust Museum, Skirball Center, and many plays and theater shows. During the summer we attend a series of concerts at Disney Hall. We celebrate Chanukah annually with a dinner and latke party. Members occasionally host a summer gathering for Chai Society.
Chai Society is proud to be an integral part of the Sinai Temple community. New members are welcome! Anyone who is interested in joining should contact Judy Begin at [email protected] or (310) 481-3222.
