Hosted by members Ira Friedman and John Hay, approximately 15 Sinai Temple members joined Rabbi Sherman for lunch and a discussion of Is There Religion In Your Workplace? Attendees included both longtime and more recent Sinai Temple members, and also crossed industry lines. Lawyers, real estate professionals, doctors and software engineers, among others, found common ground in this engaging topic and discussion. The free deli lunch was a draw too! A MESSAGE FROM THE TEMPLE PRESIDENT

Thank you for joining us for meaningful Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services. Despite having thousands of people in our synagogue, it could not have felt like a warmer, more intimate community, bound together by a profound commitment to Jewish life. If you were able to join us for services, on behalf of the clergy, board and staff, thank you. If you were unable to join us in person, please know that your Sinai family was with you in spirit. We hope to see you throughout the year. If you did not have an opportunity to participate in our Annual…

The Real Taste of Judaism

On Tuesday, August 28, Sinai Temple held an event for Jews by Choice called The Real Taste of Judaism. Over 30 recent Jewish conversion students, now all members of Sinai Temple, attended the event, led by Rabbi Sherman and Lara Rabinovitch, Phd, a specialist in food culture and immigrant history. The duo served as a complementary team. Rabbi Sherman welcomed our newest members, recognizing that each of our sacred journeys contributes to our community as a whole. Lara analyzed peoples’ associations of specific “Jewish” foods/dishes with emotions, memories and their developing religious identities. It was a beautiful evening of sharing and community connection. The group also enjoyed food from new…

Men’s Club & Membership Community Picnic

On Sunday, July 29 nearly 100 Sinai Temple members gathered at Roxbury Park for our annual Men’s Club/Membership picnic. There was delicious food, games and, of course, a clown to entertain the kids! Children ran around and played soccer, while parents played backgammon and got to know one another, as well as the clergy team. One of the best parts of the afternoon was the mini “Packing With Purpose” session, sponsored by Social Action Committee. Kids and adults helped stuff bags of essentials for homeless men and women in need. It was a fantastic Sunday for all! To learn more…

Thursday Morning Torah w/ Rabbi Rotenberg

On Thursday, July 26, Sinai Temple’s newest clergy member, Rabbi Sam Rotenberg, led his first Thursday Morning Torah class. Approximately twenty community members joined him to explore this Shabbat’s text and its interpretations. This week’s discussion revolved around review of the two variations of the Ten Commandments. In his very short time at Sinai, Rabbi Rotenberg has quickly won over the hearts and minds of many members of our community. We are excited to have him as a spiritual leader, available to our members and the greater Jewish community community. To learn more about Rabbi Sam Rotenberg, click HERE. Interested…
