JACOB GOWN

My name is Jacob Gown and I’m the Director of Musical Engagement. I’m also the head teacher for 5th grade. I was born on Sivan 30, 5738. The number 30 is important to me because I feel like my life shifted for the better when I became 30 years old.  I found that I was more focused on what I want from life and started becoming more intentional with my actions.  When I was 30 I began dating Debbie, the woman who I ultimately married.  All this relates to the concept of intention.  When we pray Shacharit each morning we…

DANIELLE KASSIN

In the 17 years of working at Sinai Temple Religious School, I have not heard so many kids WISH to go back to school!!! My own kids always wish for more summertime, but not this year. As an educator hearing the words “I can’t wait to go back to school” is music to my ears. I also can’t wait to go back to school, to be together at Sinai, to pray, sing and learn together. In the meantime, as we join together on Zoom, we will toast “L’ Chaim” with big WISHES and a huge glass of lemonade! After all,…

Celebrating the Music of Sinai Temple

MUSIC UPLIFTS OUR SOULS Music reaches where words cannot go. For generations, people who barely knew the prayers still found that the melodies of our tradition lodged in their memories and in their souls. – Rabbi David Wolpe The music of Sinai Temple is inspirational, accessible and rooted in a long history of tradition. Led by Cantor Marcus Feldman, our Music Department, in partnership with the Sinai Temple clergy, works strategically to blend traditional, nostalgic and contemporary melodies, while ensuring that the prayers we sing remain true to our history. Celebrating the Music of Sinai Temple In 2017, Cantor Marcus…

Beit Bracha

At Sinai Temple, we consider every child a blessing. That is why it is our mission to enable every child with special needs or learning differences to have a Bar/Bat Mitzvah and a Jewish education. We’ve specifically designed the Beit Bracha program to meet the needs of students with special needs or learning differences. Specific strategies, materials, and methods designed by licensed professional educators will be used to present the same curriculum as the Sinai Temple Religious School. This unique program is open to both members of Sinai Temple and non-members. If you know of a child that might be…

Sinai Temple Religious School

We are committed to instilling a strong connection to the Jewish tradition, Israel and the community at large. Our accredited, nurturing, and enthusiastic staff are passionate about teaching children the joy of Judaism. Starting in our elementary grades, we ‘do’ hands on Judaism, through art, movement in music/tefillah (prayer) and cooking. On Sunday mornings we ‘dance’ Judaism. In our upper grades, we continue to study Torah stories, Hebrew, Tefillah (prayer), and Israel. We have a unique Na’aseh program (5th-7th grades) that offers flexibility to our families, elective choices for our students and experiential education. We offer synagogue sleepovers and weekend…
