DR. MICHELLE WILLNER

In choir, it is my hope that the kids embrace this message of respecting one another, as we ourselves would like to be respected. In working together as an ensemble, as a team, we want to be inspired by one another, pay close attention to one another, and be happy with each other’s successes.  Only then, can we sing and inspire as one!

ARYELL COHEN

During the High Holy Days, one of the prayers we chant is the “Sh’ma Koleinu”: Hear Our Voice.  In this prayer, there is a line which begins “Al tashlicheinu l’eit ziknah”; do not cast off your old.  For the last couple of months, I have been working on transitioning my parents in to assisted living.  While I do this work with love and care, I can’t help but have compassion for others in the new community my parents are now living in.  On any given day when I am there, I go out of my way to do something helpful…

JACOB GOWN

My name is Jacob Gown and I’m the Director of Musical Engagement. I’m also the head teacher for 5th grade. I was born on Sivan 30, 5738. The number 30 is important to me because I feel like my life shifted for the better when I became 30 years old.  I found that I was more focused on what I want from life and started becoming more intentional with my actions.  When I was 30 I began dating Debbie, the woman who I ultimately married.  All this relates to the concept of intention.  When we pray Shacharit each morning we…
